I have had a few travels abroad, but I feel nervous every time I passed the airport immigration officer. I was expecting that they will be asking me several questions about my identity again.
They might allow me to leave the country, or they will need to ask me a lot of questions.
I don’t want to experience that again, but last Oct 18, I have to face the same situation also. My wife and I booked a flight to Singapore. On that day, but because of unexpected holidays, we cannot acquire our immigration clearance. By the way, my wife\’s situation is the same– she has a namesake with a hold departure order from immigration.
We decided to proceed anyway. I can\’t explain how we both feel as we pass through the immigration. To cut a long story short, we made it to Singapore without any questioning and interrogation. Praise God!
Here is what we have learned:
- FEAR is not real (False Expectation Appearing Real). It\’s a feeling driven by emotion.
- FEAR means go ahead.
- FEAR is a trigger for growth. Every time you will face an unfamiliar situation, anxiety kicks in. It\’s called the fear of the unknown.
- FEAR can be your barrier or your stepping stone for growth and success. — your choice.
- Fear if you are not feeling fearful anymore, because it means you are in your comfort zone. And there is no growth in a place of comfort.
After going through that experience, we become more daring and more confident. And the most important thing, our faith grew. That was because we put our trust in God, 100 percent. As we step out in faith, fear disappears.
We are looking forward to another fearful situation in our lives because we know that we will grow in that situation. Are you facing a frightening problem today? Don’t stop because it means GO!
